Ireland Critical Skills Employment Permit
What is Ireland Critical Skills Employment Permit?
Ireland addresses its labor market’s skills shortage with the Critical Skills Employment Permit, issued by the Irish Department of Business, Enterprise, and Innovation (DBEI). This permit is granted when there are no suitable EU/EEA nationals available for a job. Here are the key features of the Critical Skills Employment Permit:
Highly Beneficial Occupations: The permit targets highly skilled occupations crucial to Ireland’s economy and growth.
Eligibility: It is designed for foreign nationals with high skill levels who can fill gaps in the labor market, contributing to the Irish economy.
Duration and Visa: The permit is issued for two years, and recipients receive a Stamp 1 Critical Visa. Unlike other permits, it does not need renewal upon expiration. Instead, holders can apply for Stamp 4, which grants residence permission to live and work in Ireland without an employment permit.
Family Reunification and Employment: Primary applicants can apply for family reunification through INIS, allowing their spouse, partner, and dependent children to join them. Family members can apply for a dependent Employment Permit, enabling them to work in any occupation in Ireland. This permit is issued free of charge.
