The Federal Skilled Trades Program caters to skilled tradespeople who have the intention of permanently working in Canada upon accepting a job offer.
Under this visa category, a maximum of 3000 claims are approved each year. Category A allows a maximum of 100 claims per year for a specific occupation, while Category B does not have any such limitations.
Who are Eligible?
To be considered for a skilled immigrant position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum specifications:
-CLB 5: Proficiency in hearing and speaking abilities.
-CLB 4: Proficiency in reading and writing.
- Two years of full-time professional experience in the specified occupation within the last five years.
- Fulfil all duties outlined in the National Occupational Classification (NOC) for the designated employment.
- Possess either a state- or territory-issued certificate of competence in the specific trade or have a full-time job opportunity for at least one year.
